Dyes & Dye Intermediates

This industry involves the production of coloring agents (Dyes) and the precursor chemicals (Intermediates) used in textiles, leather, paper, and plastic industries. The manufacturing process typically involves nitration, sulphonation, reduction, and diazotization.

Environmentally, this sector is known for "High Color," high chemical oxygen demand (COD), and high salt content (TDS) in its wastewater. Because of these characteristics and the use of hazardous raw materials, Dyes and Dye Intermediates are classified under the "Red Category" and fall under Category 5(f) of the EIA Notification.

Our Proven Track Record

San Envirotech has designed and cleared environmental frameworks for several market leaders in the pigments and dyes space. Our valuable clients include industry giants such as Atul Ltd (Dyes Division), Kiri Industries, Meghmani Organics, Asahi Songwon Colors Ltd, Alps Chemicals and numerous specialized intermediate manufacturers who rely on our 35+ years of technical expertise.

Our Specialized Services (Since 1990)

I. Pre-Operational Services (Planning & Approval Phase)

  • EIA & Social Impact Studies: Detailed mapping of the project’s impact on local water bodies and air quality, ensuring a smooth Public Hearing process.
  • Advanced ETP & ZLD Engineering: Specialized design of treatment trains to tackle the "Refractory COD" and color. This includes primary chemical treatment followed by Fenton’s Reagent processes, RO, and MEE/ATFD (Agitated Thin Film Dryers) for salt recovery.
  • Risk Assessment (HAZOP/MCA): Evaluating the risks of exothermic reactions (like Nitration) to ensure plant safety and community protection.
  • Product Mix Flexibility: Assisting units in securing EC for a "Product Basket" to allow switching between different dye types based on market demand without regulatory delays.

II. Operational Services (Compliance & Optimization)

  • CCA/CTO Renewals & Amendments: Handling the complexities of "Change in Product Mix" applications common in the dyes sector.
  • Hazardous Waste Management (Form 4 & 10): Expert advice on the handling and disposal of Iron Sludge, H-Acid waste, and contaminated salts to TSDF sites.
  • Air Emission Control: Designing scrubbers to manage acidic fumes SO2, NOx, and HCl generated during synthesis.
  • Environmental Auditing: Annual performance evaluation to ensure your Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems are truly operational and cost-efficient.

III. Strategic Regulatory Guidance

  • Liaison with SEAC/EAC: Expert representation during technical appraisals to justify the "Environmental Management Plan" (EMP) of the unit.
  • Regulatory Defense: Technical support in handling "Closure Notices" or "Show Cause" notices by providing scientifically sound corrective action plans.
  • Online Monitoring (OCEMS): Setup and maintenance of online meters for pH, Flow, and Stack emissions to ensure 24/7 compliance with SPCB servers.

The San Envirotech Advantage

Dye manufacturers are often scrutinized for their "Visible Pollution." Since 1990, San Envirotech has helped units eliminate color and toxicity from their footprint, turning environmental compliance into a mark of quality that appeals to global textile buyers.
